For starters BP should know how much oil is leaking into the gulf. All they need to do is look at the god damn daily production of the well prior to the leak and make an estimate based on the average daily flow. If the well produced 50,000 barrels a day, then there is a good chance that's how much is leaking into the gulf, considering 1 billion dollars in technology cannot stop this thing, I am guessing that the flow was fairly consistent prior to the catastrophe if only falling within a predictable range. Ever since Kevin Kostner came up with the ingenious notion of SUCKING THE SHIT OUT OF THE WATER that totally perplexed BP shareholders and the government, I have been wondering why they have overlooked this blatantly obvious means to measure the spill, I am sure I am not the only one.
Recently British Petroleum has claimed that they are siphoning about 10,000 barrels of oil per day from the damaged well after placing a containment cap to slow the flow. They claim that they are now sucking up "the majority" of the oil leaking into the gulf, in spite of these live video feeds which seem to tell a different tale. But that's neither here nor there, videos of buildings falling at free fall speed never changed any minds so these live feeds surely wont! BP has persistently claimed for over a month that the oil leak was secreting 5000 barrels per day. So apparently BP is now siphoning twice the amount of oil that it for the longest time proclaimed was leaking into the gulf!!! GREAT WORK!!!
Because this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever RothschildVision has been forced to now report the leak to be between 10,000 and 20,000 barrels per day with an upper estimate that has been suspected to be as high as 70,000. This however is a less than conventional fact, the majority of people still are still presuming BP's original estimate of 5000 was official (as it was drilled into their heads for weeks), so what happens is that BP now appears to have the problem under total control (doubly in fact), after all they are sucking up twice as much as is leaking, if only subliminally!!! Although most people will realize this impossibility it nonetheless will lead to the unconscious understanding that BP has the situation under total control, while we have all been desensitized to the fact that this oil leak will persist throughout the better part of hurricane season and after wards should the relief wells not hit the mark. The media goes further to compare the leak to the Alaskan Exxon valdez "spill", which is like comparing rockets that damage bus stops in Israel, to white phosphorous corroded onto UN school children in Gaza.
NUMBERS ARE RED HERRINGS
All controversy aside, whether 5000 or 70,000 bpd is leaking into the gulf, BP likely sleeps soundly knowing that even if 1 million barrels were said to be pouring into the ocean everyday, we would all remain blissfully alienated with the help of the ubiquitous web of disinformation weaved by the hegemonic media that is owned by a handful of people who will kindly tell us to regulate the corruption as opposed to organize and rebel against it. Indeed, they will tell us all sorts of knee jerk reactive bullshit, like boycotting BP while buying from the good saint Enron and Shell instead, they will tell us that the multi-billion dollar companies which steal our toxic resources and then sell them back need to be held to a certain standard of fucking us over, and not just be allowed to do it without someone watching them do it (someone paid by taxpayers). The "regulate" shills have been cued to greenwash the obsolete industry once again, just in time for the Fox make another billion dollar Avatar sequel. YIPPIE!!!! The agenda here was clearly not to give BP incentive to set up shop in the middle east and honor its no bid contracts in Iraq, liberals will be happy to wage wars for oil now, so long as its kept out of the water, away from the fish and the fisherman who have now found employment with Haliburton cleaning up the spill alongside inmates from state subsidized prisons.
In short the numbers game is bullshit, what should disturb us most is that a multinational corporation is stealing our resources (ones that are technologically obsolete) and selling it back to us while getting insurmountably rich and powerful. Whether its 1 million barrels a day or 5000, chances are neither of these figures are going to thrust us into the unorganized state of collective unrest necessary for a global police state crackdown, but here's to hoping (being stupid)!!! If we seriously think that publishing the worst case estimate will amount to anything more than a day of intensified blogging and easily quelled virtual insurgency we are sadly mis-taken. Half the people will press on perusing the iPad app store in search of freedumb, while a few will their shake fist in disbelief while jerking off with the other, and a remaining few may sport picket signs in free speech zones which demand they promptly be coerced by the same greedy people under a different company name.
Then there is us.

Damn. I just realised I'm the one raising my fist with one hand, jerking off with the other...
