700, 000 new vehicles have been produced to greenwash the oil industry and kick start the US (Japanese) economy, while keeping a very small portion of the population employed and thus entirely preoccupied and subdued.
"Truthout" has published an article documenting this great success of stripping raw materials from the earth to manufacture 3/4 of a million vehicles that are not built to last, and simply disposing (wasting) 3/4 million vehicles that ran perfectly well, and likely would have for years to come. They see it as a success to have transitioned people onto vehicles that still depend on the clandestine petro-complex (just not as much) and the oppressive capitalist system, while inadvertantly prologing the oil wars for generations to come.
Additionally most of the cars replaced were American trucks for Japanese cars!!! Hey, I am no nationalist, but its pretty clear that this will not help the American economy, considering the government subsidized the whole affair to boot...
The environmental footprint owed to manufacturing a new (fuel efficient) vehicle dwarf that potentially saved by cutting carbon emissions 40%. They want you to think Carbon is all that matters, what about the forests that use it!!! The raw materials!!! Jesus flippin christ. We are fucked.
