Pictures of nature 'help reduce cancer pain'

10/21/2010

Nature cures cancer (see article below), and images of this complex balance bring the body back to homeostasis. Show them pictures of cities and slums and I imagine the Cancer will get more agitated. The cancer picks up on our physiological reaction to the images and remembers "oh yeah, hey man, everything is OK, I don't need to worry" every thing I need IS HERE.

FROM THE TELEGRAPH

Scientists at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, America, claimed that patients’ feelings can be lifted without them having to leave their beds.

Looking at pictures of tranquil scenery is enough to help alleviate the suffering of excruciating cancer treatment, they discovered.

Researchers analysed patients undergoing bone marrow aspiration and biopsy (BMAB), a painful form of cancer treatment in which marrow is extracted from the pelvic bone with a local anaesthetic.

Some were treated in a standard hospital environment while others were exposed to the sights and sounds of outdoors – either the tranquillity of birds and waterfalls or the stress of cities and traffic.

The nature scene often involved surrounding the patient in images of Victoria Falls in Zambia.

The researchers measured the levels of pain felt and found that those subjected to the peacefulness of nature experienceed less pain.

Levels of pain in a stressful urban setting were the same as they were under standard procedure, the Hopkins Pain Rating Instrument showed.

The findings prove that it is not necessary just to distract a patient to alleviate pain but that the distraction must have a calming effect.

It also gives hope to sufferers who have tried other techniques which have failed to reduce pain, such as hypnosis or sedation.
Noah Lechtzin, who led the research, said: “I think there are certain elements of nature that are beneficial and others that could be frightening.

Ingestible microships for your safety

From Singularity Hub
Proteus Ingestible Microchip Hits Clinical Trials

About a year ago, we brought to light a brilliant company that could be described as a predecessor to body 2.0.  Proteus Biomedical specializes in creating a digestible, ingestible microchip called the Raisin that can be put into medicines.  The chip is activated by stomach acids and can transmit to an external receiver from within the body.  Now, the Proteus system is about to be tested in two clinical trials in the UK, a big leap that, if successful, could bring this technology to consumers in a mere matter of years.  Edible underwear, yes, but edible microchips?  Now that is cool.

Proteus Ingestible Sensors

In the ongoing onslaught of body 2.0 (the constant monitoring of the body to ensure that health problems are caught and treated early) here at Singularity Hub, we have brought you the SmartPill, a digestive system tracker that has many similarities with the Raisin chip.  Although both are meant to be eaten and both can transmit information back out to a portable data receiver, the Proteus system is designed to be packaged along with another medication inside of a pill, giving doctors a different dataset than the SmartPill.

Raisin can be a great help to doctors who are trying to closely monitor their patients.  Firstly, it can tell the doctor which medication was taken and if the medication was taken at all.  This could prove quite useful for patients who would resist taking the medication or those patients that do not take dosages in the correct amount or at the right time.  The benefits do not stop after the medication is in the body, as the microchip is able to transmit the patient’s vital signs (heart rate and such) in real-time.  Doctors will then be able to tell exactly what physiological changes occurred with medication and change dosages as needed for an optimal patient response.

Carcinogenic CT scans?

Lethal Danger of CT Scans
By William FaloonWilliam FaloonWe tried everything… from pleading with arrogant physicians to providing irrefutable documentation to support our position. The response was always the same: we were “out of our minds” for suggesting that medical X-rays increase future cancer risks.

Our opposition could never substantiate that exposing healthy cells to ionizing radiation was safe. They did at one point rely on theAtomic Energy Commission, who claimed there were no dangers to low-level radiation exposure.

The Atomic Energy Commission was created to “manage the development, use, and control of atomic (nuclear) energy for military and civilian applications.” Like so many federal agencies, the priority was not to protect the public’s health. Instead this tax-funded bureaucracy (like the FDA) functioned to guarantee the economic success of the industries it regulated.1

By ridiculing those who warned about the carcinogenic effects of X-rays, the federal government and medical establishment enabled companies making CT scanners (and other radiation devices) to earn tens of billions of dollars in profit, with Medicare and private health insurance picking up most of the costs.

Radiation OverloadCompared to regular medical X-rays, CT scans yield much higher-resolution images. Unfortunately, CT scans also expose the patient to hundreds and sometimes thousands of times more radiation.2-4

The routine use of CT scans and other dangerous X-ray imaging procedures has skyrocketed over the past three decades. In 1980, there were 3 million CT scans done. By the year 2007, the number increased to about 70 million.5,6

We at Life Extension® long ago warned members to avoid CT scans and any kind of X-ray unless absolutely necessary. Up against us was an armada of for-profit companies who promoted CT scans to healthy people to measure coronary artery calcification, virtual colonoscopy in place of the more effective standard colonoscopy (flexible tube procedures), and even whole-body CT scans to identify abnormalities anywhere in one’s anatomy.

The irony is that health-conscious people, who often paid for whole-body CT scans out of their own pockets, unwittingly exposed their whole body to huge levels of DNA gene-mutating radiation!

Absolutely Shocking DataThe uninformed public is in for a shocker. A study released at the end of last year reveals that CT scans deliver up to four times more radiation than what was previously believed, which was already dangerously high.7

At the same time, another study led by the National Cancer Institute showed that CT scans administered in the year 2007 alone may contribute to 29,000 new cancer cases and nearly 15,000 cancer deaths.8

The problem is that the explosion in unnecessary CT scans has been going on every year. If we carry this back just ten years, this means that 150,000 Americans are facing horrific deaths from CT scan-induced cancers.

Antidepressant narcotics found to heal spine

10/21/2009

Scientists have found that the big pharmas mental poison Lexapro when used in conjunction with a treadmill training program accelerated the recovery of people with spinal cord injury. A group who was given the drug, performed significantly greater then those just given a placebo and training. It would make sense that such an obvious side effect would be suprising as corporate drugdealers fasttrack their poisons onto the market without adequate testing nor scrutiny by the FDA.

Although the article attributes the heightened functionality of the spinal cord to a chemical within the drug itself, they seem to be overlooking one obvious fact. Anti-depressants create a temporary and artificial state of mental contention, which itself has been shown to increase physical performance on a variety of dimensions. If a person feels happier, they will likely perform better be less stressed out and not be as sensitive to the pain, thereby accelerating their rehabilitation. The chemical within the drug is what scientists attribute the healing to, because they dont want people to know the secret... That is, that their bodies have everything within them to heal almost any condition, and it is merely the stress, and the self-defeating negative psychological attitude which limits them in this self-healing capacity.

Anti-depressants themselves are yet another byproduct of our humanistic "me me me" society. There is a demand for them as people here feel entitled to be happy all the time. Our standards for social, and economic achievement are what dictate an articial measure of ourselves, when we feel unfulfilled along these superficial dimensions we get down on ourselves, and think something must be wrong with our brain. Never thinking that it is perhaps our worldview or our upbringing which has yielded this discontented perspective. In our efforts to get a quick fix, and not deal with our underlying problems we seek a 'diagnosis' which would enable us to use a drug to suppress our natural capacity to deal with these problems while bringing us am artifical, fleeting and very expensive state of mental contention.

Its no suprise that governments (particularily in Canada) will subsidize their population for drugs, and foot the bill on a slew of pharmaceuticals, but will never cover the cost of acupuncture, or other natural healing remedies which seeks to enhance individuals ability to heal themselvs. This is because the government and the drug companies are fking criminals, who want a population strung out on their poison that will never reach their true psychological capacity to realize how much of a sham this all is, and the crux reason for why they are unhappy. Rather the population will become dependent on these legal drugs and diminism in their capacity to heal themselves and the world around them. Lexapro will release another drug for spinal cord injury and the people who take it wont put two and two together because they are too strung out, They wont realize that it is their happiness and not a chemical which is accelerating their physical recovery. After that they will spend years trying to overcome dependency on the anti-depressant medication, and when they try to quit and have destroyed their capacity to make themselves happy, the physical condition will return...
