Critique of article: Technology doesnt isolate people
But before you go buy a new smartphone that will make you dumb check this out!
Another misleading headline is being pushed on the masses of ziotards by Ziovision... by definition using the internet is isolating. For starters, instead of being social, you are on a computer, or texting on a phone!!!
No matter how many friends you may amass in other states, provinces or countries, the more you collect, the more tedious your digital obligations become in sustaining this network, thus limiting the time you actually have to engage in the real world with real people, and do ACTUAL constructive things, like starting your own website!!! You may meet people you never would have online; that’s great sure... in fact you probably never will meet those people anyway other than online!!! You will be too busy trying to know everyone and everything while catering to the needs of your online self-image which is entirely stripped of your imperfections...

This is just another attempt to get everyone on the grid, while bringing you a false sense of confidence in wasting your life in someone’s digital playground. To keep you sitting at home instead of taking to the streets, and engaging with people. I know it sounds cliché, but knowledge isn’t worth a fuck, if people don’t unite in the physical and put that knowledge to work. There hasnt been a successful revolution since the internet and there wont be until we all log off.

The studies extrapolated conclusion is based on the commissioned finding that peoples ‘discussion networks’ (i.e. ONLINE discussion), are larger for people who use the internet more.. The study also bases its conclusion on the following premises:
“The researchers said most uses of the Internet and mobile phone have a positive relationship to neighborhood networks, voluntary associations, and use of public spaces.”
WHICH SAYS ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING ABOUT HOW -ISOLATED and ALIENATED- A PERSON IS AND ESPECIALLY DOESNT SPEAK TO ITS EFFECTIVENESS AS A TOOL FOR SOCIAL PROGRESS. WHAT THE HELL IS A NEIGHBOURHOOD NETWORK ANYWAY!!! THESE AMBIGOUS AFFILIATIONS ARE JUST AS EASILY EXPLAINED BY THE FACT THAT ONLY A PRIVILEDGED DEMOGRAPHIC HAS THIS TECHNOLOGY AT THEIR DISPOSAL... PEOPLE WHO USE THE INTERNET ARE PROBABLY MORE LIKELY TO BE INVOLVED IN A VARIETY OF THINGS SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY CAN AFFORD IT.

WOW! CONSIDERING FACEBOOK AND MYSPACE ARE THE BIGGEST FUCKING ONLINE SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES (AS WELL AS THE TOP GOOGLE SEARCHES) MAYBE... JUST MAYBE... IT IS FUCKING SIGNIFICANT!!! (FROM THIS EXPERIENCED RESEARCHERS PERSPECTIVE ANYWAY!!)

THEY WANT YOU PLUGGED INTO THEIR ONLINE MULTIPLAYER SOCIAL VIDEO GAME WHERE THEY CAN POLICE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH NEWS FEED FILTERS, INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY ENGAGING THE CORRUPT SYSTEM THAT WE ARE ALL HOPING WILL FIX ITSELF.
